Anthology: A collection of Flowers

In this book I have brought together a collection of my experiences and awakening epiphanies. I have gathered each group of these "flowers" according to kind.
Throughout the years I have used various stories to illustrate points. The thought of writing them down so they could be enjoyed by people who never had the opportunity to sit with me sounded like a lot of fun.
When this started out, I thought there would only be about eight or nine stories. But as I would write one story, another would come to mind.
Then just as I finally figured that I had included them all, I would teach a class and here would pop up a story that I had used many times. Most of the stories are original, but I have picked up a couple along the way. I have used them so much that it is very difficult for me to determine which are mine and which are borrowed from some unknown source. I have also included some of my personal experiences to add to the whole potpourri. This book has been a lot of fun to put together. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it!

The Warring Mobs
Shiva (12/20/14)
Many months ago I had a dream in which I was approaching a town plaza where there was a huge gathering of people. On one side of the plaza was a loud, rowdy crowd with megaphones, signs and people yelling. As I gazed across the plaza, there was another equally large crowd also screaming and holding up signs. These two groups were diametrically opposed to each other and it appeared that things were escalating to a possible violent confrontation… I looked behind me and there were a small group of us, less than ten in number.
Then without a word, we started to walk across the plaza, directly between these two warring groups. Both sides continued to scream and yell at each other, but we simply walked between them without looking at either side. Once we arrived in the center, we formed a circle and sat down to meditate… In the midst of the anger and outrage, through the clamor and confusion, we meditated. The area around us filled with Light and the crowd became noticeably quieter. Some in the crowd turned their wrath and attention to us, demanding that we take sides… We paid them no attention. We were in the Light and the Light does not have any edges… So, for us there was no side…
Today we are increasingly being faced with great turmoil and upheaval. The world is awakening and people are really insecure and frightened. This atmosphere of fear and anger causes folks to seek a side to belong to. There is a growing need to be a part of some sort of movement to protect or to change the world that we live in.
As Awakened Souls, it is our task to be neither be repulsed or attracted, but rather seek a quiet and restful place in the midst of chaos and war. We are the warriors of Light and Peace. This is our moment and time to find that Light and Peace within ourselves. This is the time to remove all division and chaos from inside of us and to dissolve into that Peace and Light…
We should not expect the warring mobs to understand or appreciate our actions. Indeed, they will most likely take the notion that if we do not join them, then we must be the enemy… Still, in the dream we sat in meditation. We transcended the mob mentality and demonstrated another way… This is our greatest time of triumphant. It is why we showed up… The outer is a sea of constant change… The inner is spirit. We are representatives of the Eternal…
